BIG TIMERS - Download

"Sugar Hill is where the rich folks live - This story is about the poor folks who work for the rich folks on Sugar Hill." And so begins this brief tale. Beautiful Betty Washburn is engaged to aviator Tom Powers. Tom thinks that because Betty has such a cultured singing voice she must be from a wealthy family, when in fact her mother Cora is a cleaning woman at a swanky hotel. Since entertainer Mabel Page is out of town, Cora decides to "borrow" her luxury apartment to impress Tom and his parents. With the help of the porter Cora serves them a fine meal and Betty wows them with her singing. Mabel returns and it looks like the cat’s out of the bag - but she brings her U.S.O. touring group down to help Betty and Cora entertain the Powers. Before you can say "itıs showtime!" the livingroom has been turned into a stage featuring an all-girl band and other specialty numbers including a nonsense song from Stepin' Fetchit and an exotic, hip-rolling, hoochi-koo by Tarzana.
