The grandson of the founder of Ware College is threatening to withdraw the school’s operating funds because the lovely athletic director, Annabelle Brown (Valerie Black), won’t succumb to his amorous advances. Luckily for Annabelle and the college one of its most famous alumni, Louis Jordan, just happens to be stuck in town.

Jordan followed his smash short subject "Caldonia" (1945) with this, his first feature. And he’s the main attraction here, joking and singing a long list of songs including "Good Morning Heartache," "The Land of the Buffalo Nickel," "Today You Gotta Have the Beat," "Don’t Worry About That Mule," "Long Legg’d Lizzie," "Salt Pork, West Virginia," and the title song, "Beware!"
